该剧改编自梁晓声的原著《我和我的命》。
来自西南山区玉县“神仙顶”的70后女孩方婉之（谭松韵 饰），遭遇感情和家庭变故，20岁便从大学退学，辗转来到深圳。在打工初期时结识了闺蜜李娟、郝倩倩，三人携手面对风雨，随着深圳这片热土的发展，她们从打工到做外贸、再到自主创业玩具品牌，历经事 业风波，以及黄耀东、颜子威等人的背叛，在深圳站稳了脚跟。
方婉之始终坚持奋斗姿态，读夜大、学英语提高自己，也积极抓住改革开放浪潮和时代机遇，在不断清零的人生中奋斗不止。身边的人也在她影响下，有了美好归宿。当步入中年、公司顺利上市，她将企业交给团队打理，带着收养的孤儿方妙妙，与知己高翔一起回到故乡，就此安定在了命运起点神仙顶。
